Your World Cup shirt is under threat •Keshi warns Ideye

Ideye Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi has warned striker Brown Ideye that the competition for shirts in the team is really hotting up, and every player must fight for it.

The home based Super Eagles has been camping for the 2014 Championship for African Nations, with several friendly games played so far.

Ideye visited the team camp in Port Harcourt, where he encouraged his teammates and also assured the coaches of his state of fitness ahead of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

When Ideye met Keshi, the Eagles boss told him that he had a battle on his hands as he (Keshi) had discovered new home based players who are ready to challenge for shirts in all the positions ahead of the World Cup.

The Dynamo Kyiv of Ukraine forward showed no fear as he is prepared to fight for a jersey ahead of the World Cup.

“Sir, they are all welcome, the more the merrier,” he said with a smile.

Nigeria will be making its debut appearance at the CHAN tournament that kicks off on January.

Ideye, breezed into camp just before dinner time on Saturday and went back-slapping and exchanging pleasantries with his teammates, some of whom he has not seen since after the friendly against Italy at the Craven Cottage over a month ago.

Ideye said he was in good shape and despite the holidays, he has been keeping fit and getting set for the restart of the Ukrainian season as well as the Eagles preparations for the World Cup in Brazil.

He also said he believes that despite the departure of some key players from the home based Eagles the team still has the potential to shock the continent at the CHAN tourney.

‘My mates will do well at the CHAN tourney because we have a good team and a very good technical crew backed by a performing NFF, he said.
